WS16 Begins Jan 23

Lampo announces its WS16 season with seven new programs through June.

South Korean filmmaker Lee Hangjun and noise musician Hong Chulki perform two audiovisual works on Jan 23 (Logan Center for the Arts, presented in partnership with the Smart Museum of Art). On Feb 6 Alessandro Bosetti premieres Plane/Taléa, in our first co-presentation with the Poetry Foundation. Later that month the Barcelona-based, post-rave project EVOL premieres Opus17aSlimeVariation#8—for computer and RGBM laser (Feb 20 at the Graham Foundation). The piece is a new reinterpretation of German conceptual artist Hanne Darboven’s legendary Opus 17a. In March we bring Thomas Ankersmit to Chicago to premiere a new work commissioned by Lampo (Mar 12 at the Graham Foundation).

The season concludes with events in April, May and June—Welsh harpist Rhodri Davies in his Chicago solo debut (Apr 9 at the Graham Foundation); pianist Chris Abrahams of the Necks in his first Chicago solo performance (May 21 at the Logan Center for the Arts, presented in partnership with the Renaissance Society); and Ben Vida will present a long-form work for four vocalists and electronics, beginning at 6pm (June 11 at the Graham Foundation).
