Lampo is thrilled to bring French violinist and improviser Mathieu Werchowski to Chicago for his U.S. debut. Here, he performs solo improvisations with two different violins—including one with strings from an electric guitar—and multiple tunings.
Mathieu Werchowski (b.1973, Grenoble, France), a conservatory trained artist, has performed in several multimedia groups, playing with dancers, filmmakers and electroacoustic musicians. Collaborators include Jérôme Noetinger, Lionel Marchetti, John Russell, Ute Völker, Jean Sébastien Mariage, Bertrand Denzler, Xavier Charles, Anne-Julie Rollet and David Chiesa
